Reason #2:
There are many variables that go into what makes a great wedding officiant, and a great wedding ceremony. SoulMates offers you the best of the best on each and every one.
These important qualities are:
- Talent --- Believe me, not only is public speaking most people's #1 fear, but GOOD public
speaking is a rare gift. I'm sure you've been to at least one wedding where the officiant simply wasn't a good speaker. We promise you a gifted, dynamic speaker to preside over the most important part of your big day. Furthermore, talent comes into play when it comes to creating a ceremony that fits you as a couple without sounding contrived---a ceremony that is appropriate and tasteful, and yet joyful, even fun.
- Experience --- You need someone who knows all the little "secrets" to making your wedding the
best it can be, while keeping everyone calm and collected, and averting all those little potential last- minute wedding disasters. This comes only with experience, and SoulMates is built on well over a decade of experience in this profession.
- Personality --- I am constantly surprised that the number one complaint we hear from couples
about other officiants/vendors is that they were either inflexible, rude, unfriendly, abrupt, or just didn't have much of a personality at all. By contrast, what do couples say all the time about SoulMates? "so warm and friendly....so fun/funny.... so professional... such a nice demeanor/presence....loved her!"
- Professionalism --- I'm sure it is important to you that your officiant maintain professional
appearance, demeanor, and standards of etiquette. It is also important to us. We are punctual and polite, and always appropriately attired. We cultivate good relationships with other local wedding professionals, and always strive to work with those professionals in a way that makes everyone's job easier and every couple's wedding even more wonderful. We maintain memberships in professional associations, and pursue continuing education to stay abreast of ever-evolving wedding trends and important related industry topics. One would think these things would go without saying...but unfortunately, it is not always the case, according to stories I hear from my brides about some 'other officiant they saw at someone else's wedding'.
- Creativity/Flexibility --- The two go hand in hand, and this also goes back to talent and
experience. A lot of officiants say they'll do "your wedding, your way". However, in order to make this happen, and to do it well, one needs a truly creative touch and a flexible, open-minded way of thinking. Once again, these are rare gifts. In addition, it's important to have enough experience to know just how creative one can be and still have everything "work" within the context, logistics, and time-constraints of a wedding ceremony..... There can be no doubt that SoulMates has that one covered.
- Reliability --- Sadly, we get far too many last-minute calls from couples whose officiant cancelled
on them with very little notice, leaving them to fend for themselves. This usually happens when you are dealing with a vendor who does not run their business as a business---either because it's just a sideline/part-time endeavour for them, or because they're just the "creative" type, and organization is not their strong suit, so they simply don't take all those 'little' details seriously. If you DO take those details seriously, you want to hire someone who has in place all those little things that tell you you're dealing with someone who isn't just a "fly-by-night" operation. What are those little things, you ask? Let's start with contracts, back-up officiant network, insurance, references, emergency contact information, accessibility.... Does SoulMates have all of that? Yup.
- Reputation --- Read through our testimonials on this site, ask around on local wedding chat
boards about us (theknot.com is a good one), ask your ceremony/reception venue and other vendors about us. We are confident you'll find that your research confirms all of the points mentioned above....'nuff said.
